San Bernardo Scenic Byway
Visitor Services
Visitors can obtain tourist information at the St. Bernard Parish Office of Tourism (Government Complex, 8201 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette, 504-278-4200) or at the Visitor Center (Chalmette National Park, 8606 W. St. Bernard Hwy., Chalmette). Plenty of restaurants and opportunities for outdoor activities abound in the area.
There are full marina facilities at the Gulf Outlet Marina (5353 Paris Rd., Chalmette, 504-589-4430). Visitors can find boat dockage, fuel, bait, supplies, propane, small boat rentals, hotel and restaurant here. Also at the S.S. Charters, Inc. marina (P.O. Box 73896, Metairie, 888-WE-CATCH), you'll find prowl marshes, bays, islands and rigs for trout, reds and flounder.

Special Considerations
In the eastern section of the byway, caution must be taken as this part of the byway winds around bayous; therefore, RVs or campers must take heed.
