Fishing opportunities are available at Crooked Creek Reservoir, Upper Boggy Bayou Reservoir, Cocodrie Lake, and Miller's Lake, all off La. Hwy. 13.
In Chicot State Park (La. Hwy. 3042, off US Hwy. 167 north of Ville Platte), fishing boats may be rented at landings in the park, and there are ramps for launching private boats. Restrooms, pavilions, barbecue pits and tables are also available in picnic areas. Tent and trailer camping is permitted for up to two weeks at fully developed campsites. Furnished cabins are also available but should be reserved well in advance.
Thistlethwaite Wildlife Management Area (La. Hwy. 10), is excellent for hunting deer, squirrels, rabbit and woodcock.
