Approximately 80 percent of the trails is wheelchair accessible.

Camping Camping

There is no camping in the park. Six forest service campgrounds and three private campgrounds are available within a 20-mile radius of the park.

Food Food

There are local restaurants and a grocery store in Pecos. More are available in Santa Fe.

Lodging Lodging

The park has no lodging. Pecos offers one motel.

Special Considerations

High elevation (7,000 feet) means cold winters and mild summers. Expect sunny weather most of the time. Expect snow in winter and wind in spring.

Restrictions

The park was expanded in 1990 to 6,600 acres. Since park expansion is new, some areas are not yet open to visitors because studies are in progress.
