This community was established during the early 1880s under the name of Fairview. It was settled by the more sedate families who did not care for the rambunctious town of Chloride nearby. It is now a ranching community with a general store, post office, café, and bar. There are many historic old buildings to be seen in the town. Information is available at the General Store.
