Geronimo Trail Scenic Byway
Kingston, NM

This old mining town once had a population of over 7,000 people and was one of the largest mining camps in New Mexico. It is now a quiet community of less than 50 residents, with several old buildings remaining. The historic Black Range Lodge is now a bed-and-breakfast and retreat location. Seminars are frequently held in Kingston on straw-bale construction techniques. Hiking and mountain biking are popular in the area, and the scenery is very appealing to photographers and artists.
