Trail of the Mountain Spirits Scenic Byway
Wild Horse Mesa and Copperas Vista, NM

Stunning viewpoints on the Byway include Wild Horse Mesa and Copperas Vista. Wild Horse Mesa offers views of the Sapillo valley floor and creek, the continental ridge and the Black Range to the southeast. Looking northwest you see the high rugged mountains of Mogollon Baldy and the Gila River flowing through the deep canyons below you. Copperas Vista looks north on a rugged volcanic landscape. On a clear day you can see the Plains of San Agustin to the north.
