Restrictions
Effective May 23, 2006, Lincoln National Forest is closed to public use due to extremely high fire danger.
Seasons
SpringSpring is the windy season, and high winds dry the forest to the point of extreme fire danger. Because of this, fire season usually starts in March or April.
Summer
Fire season continues through mid-July. If fire danger becomes too high, open fires may be prohibited. Rainy season generally begins in July and goes through September.
Winter
Winter usually begins in late October or early November, when the snow first falls.
