Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, KS

The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve consists of 10,894 acres of land including Southwind Nature Trail and the handicap accessible Bottomland Trail. Bus tours run from May to October, and they cover a 6.4 mile tour of the preserve's more remote prairie. It offers sweeping views and endless sky. Park rangers describe the prairie ecosystem of plants and animals, the geology of the Flint Hills, and Native American and ranch history.
