Flint Hills Scenic Byway
Schrumpf Hill Scenic Overlook, KS

This overlook provides the traveler with a 360-degree panoramic view of the Flint Hills. From a raised mound the visitor can glimpse the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, Cottonwood Falls, the Cottonwood River, and the endless prairie. Interpretive panels tell of life in the Flint Hills. Native wildflowers grow in profusion as if to welcome the visitor, especially in late May-early June. It is a great place to stop, relax, and enjoy the majesty of the prairie.
