  • Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge (CO)

    This refuge is home to many species of waterfowl who use this area to nest and raise young.

    Location:

    Located just south of Walden, CO.

  • Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest (CO)

    The forests encompass 1.5 million acres and extends north to the Wyoming border, south of I-70 to Mount Evans, and west across the Continental divide to the Williams Fork area.

    Location:

    Located in northcentral Colorado.

  • Fort Collins (CO)

    Fort Collins has many opportunities to enjoy the arts, as well as the abundant recreational adventures in and around the city.

    Location:

    Located along CO-14 at the easternmost point on the byway.

  • Lory State Park (CO)

    Lory State Park offers seclusion and recreational opportunities just outside of Fort Collins.

    Location:

    Located in Bellvue, along the edge of Horsetooth Reservoir.

  • Rawah Wilderness Area (CO)

    The Rawah Wilderness Area boasts miles of trails for exploring and many glacier carved valleys and peaks.

    Location:

    Located north of the byway, within Roosevelt and Routt National Forests.

  • Red Feather Lakes (CO)

    This mountain village offerings a number of outdoor activities, including horseback riding, hiking, and fishing. It sits near a cluster of lakes.

    Directions:

    In Fort Collins, take US-287 (CO-14) north for 4.6 miles. Keep straight for 16.6 miles, then keep left for 0.1 miles. Keep straight onto CR-74E (Jackass Rd) for 3.9 miles. Keep STRAIGHT onto CR-74E (Redfeather Lakes Rd) for 19.5 miles. Turn right onto CR-67J and drive for 0.7 miles. Turn right onto Main St.

  • State Forest State Park (CO)

    This park is known for its rugged, Colorado wilderness characteristics. There are lots of opportunities to go backcountry hiking, camping, or hunting.

    Located just west of Rawah Wilderness Area.
