Red Feather Lakes is a village set in the mountains of the Roosevelt National Forest. The Robinson Homestead Cabin includes period furnishings that are over 100 years old. The area is also known for the excellent hiking and biking trails through the scenic area. Fishing in the nearby lakes or the Poudre River located along the byway are other popular recreational activities. If travelers enjoy more leisurely activities, there is plenty of opportunity to view the wildlife and take pictures of the scenic surroundings. This small village was established around 1900 by local loggers and ranchers. The area gained in popularity with the introduction of the automobile.
