Camping

There are several developed campgrounds on public lands and National Forests. These include:

• Amphitheater; located just south of Ouray
• Lost Trail; access from Hwy. 149, trailhead on Lost Creek Trail Creek to Cataract Lakes
• Mill Creek; fishing available in Lake Fork
• Molas lake; located at the town of Silverton
• Slumgullion; located 3/4 mile east of Windy Point Overlook
• South Mineral Creek; turn off Hwy. 550 two miles north of Silverton, then go 5 miles to the site
• Williams Creek; there is a trail up to Williams Creek
• Wupperman; fishing in the lake, dump station

These campgrounds are located in a variety of settings, with Lost Creek being the most remote and Amphitheater, South Mineral Creek, and Wupperman being closer to towns.

• There is a camping limit of 14 day that applies to all public lands in the area.
