Independence Town Site and Ghost Town, CO

From the town site to the summit, the corridor traverses the upland willow tarns, Krumholz Zone and tundra areas that characterize the landscape above 11,000 feet. There are numerous beaver ponds, scattered vegetation, old buildings associated with the Independence Ghost Town, and expansive views of the surrounding mountains.
