Braille and Discovery Trails, CO
The Braille Trail, built in 1961, was the first trail developed specifically for the blind visitor. The trail winds through dense forest crossing a mountain stream providing information about the local ecosystem and geological formations in the area. Visitors are encouraged to experience the ecosystem through touch, sound, smell, and even taste. The Discovery Trail, developed in 2000, provides a similar experience to disabled visitors.
