Crystal Lake was formed by the placement of Crystal Dam and Morrow Point Dam along a narrow stretch of the Gunnison River. This lake is bordered on the north by the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument and on the south by Morrow Point Lake, the second of three lakes in the Curecanti National Recreation Area.
