Outback Scenic Byway
Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities
No special bike paths have been provided along the byway. As a result, the number of bicyclists that use the road is low. The highest use was when the 1996 Cycle Oregon event attracted more than 3,000 riders and support personnel.
Pedestrians are able to stretch their legs or take short hikes at Fort Rock National Landmark, Summer Lake Rest Area, Chandler Wayside, and Gooselake State Parks. The town of Lakeview also has sidewalks along US 395. Along the rest of the byway, pedestrians would share the shoulder of the road with bicycles or other vehicles.
