Six Rivers National Forest (CA)
The forest is best known for its valued timber, dispersed recreation, and outstanding anadromous fishing. Whitewater rafting and kayaking provide visitors with exciting water recreation opportunities.

Aquariums and Marine Centers (OR)
The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway - Oregon hosts two nationally-important aquariums, the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Mark O. Hatfield Marine Science Center. Interestingly, both of these aquariums are in the coast city of Newport.

Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge (OR)
Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge protects the largest remaining tidal salt marsh within the Coquille River estuary.

The Tututni people lived peaceably near this site for thousands of years until to the arrival of white settlers.

A wonderful walking trail takes you to Blacklock Point, where you can take in the white foaming ocean water crashing against the colorful, luminescent cliffs of the South Coast.

Come enjoy the coastal beauty of the city "where flowers meet the sea." With a population of just 5,950, the port community of Brookings is small enough to be cozy while still large enought to provide many of the advantages of larger towns.
Location: Along the Oregon coast, just six miles past the California border.

This 1800-acre park, once a ranch owned by the hard-working Hughes family, affords marvelous views of the Cape Blanco Lighthouse and boasts the historic Hughes house, hiking trails, beach access, and a campground.

Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge (OR)
At Cape Meares National Wildlife Refuge, vertical sea cliffs provide nesting habitats for Peregrine Falcons, Brandt's and Pelagic Cormorants, Common Murres, Tufted Puffins, Pigeon Guillemots, Western Gulls, Black Oystercatchers, and thousands of other birds. Migrating loons, grebes, flocks of shorebirds, and waterfowl are also commonly observed.
