Pacific Coast Scenic Byway - Oregon
Tillamook, OR

Tillamook is the center of activity for Tillamook county. With a history of dairy farming and timber harvesting, it is no wonder this town has maintained many traditions. These traditions are celebrated in community events throughout the year, such as the Tillamook County Fair, June Dairy Festival and Rodeo, and Art in the Park. This small town welcomes visitors with its charm and many attractions, including the Tillamook Cheese Factory. This factory is the largest cheese plant west of the Cascades. Tours, a mini museum, and free cheese tasting are all part of the experience here. Cheese production started in Tillamook County in 1894, and in 1909 this was organized into a cooperative effort. The Tillamook cheese was originally developed in England before being produced in Oregon.
