Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway
Susan Creek Recreation Sites, OR

The Susan Creek Recreation Sites include a campground, picnic area, boat launch, Susan Creek Falls Trail and interconnecting trail. The Susan Creek Campground is located about 1/2 mile upriver from the picnic area. There is a trail that connects the two along the North Umpqua River.

The campground is a premier attraction in an old-growth Douglas Fir Grove overlooking the river. It offers several sites that front on the river and the travelway is paved to allow access for all. The restroom/shower facility is in excellent condition and accessible. There are numerous trails and during the summer months, interpretive presentations occur at the amphitheater. Susan Creek Falls Trail is .8 miles in length and rated easy for hiking but difficult for wheelchairs. The scenic 50-foot waterfall plunges over moss-covered rock cliffs. Picnic table and barbeque grills are near the parking area and the falls. Susan Creek Picnic Area is adjacent to the heavily used Susan Creek Boat Launch.
