Diamond Lake Recreation Area, OR
Diamond Lake is one of the largest US Forest Service recreation areas in the country. Diamond Lake Resort, under special-use permit with the Forest Service, is located on the lake which reflects the Cascade Mountains of the Umpqua National Forest sitting at an elevation of 5,182 feet. This popular year-round recreation area, with resort, campgrounds, and RV Park, provides opportunities for fishing, swimming, picnicking, sailing, waterskiing, hiking, horseback-riding, and bicycling. Winter sports include cross-country skiing and snowcat skiing, snowmobiling, and tubing on a nearby hill. A Civilian-Conservation-Corps-era Visitor Center with interpretive exhibits and sales items is located at Diamond Lake Campground. A wide range of accommodations is available.
