Sugarloaf Mountain, MN

Formed from quarrying in the 1880s, Sugar Loaf Mountain is now a landmark on the Minnesota Great River Road. Just outside Winona, Sugar Loaf Mountain seemed to be the perfect place to quarry rock for a road that would take residents of Winona accross the waters of the Mississippi. Now, the man-made rock formation is lit at night for a unique spectacle.
