Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, MN

Containing one of the largest populations of nesting Greater Sandhill Cranes in Minnesota and important to grassland and wetland species, Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge spans 1,825 acres and serves as an important stop for many species of migrating birds. Observe and photograph wildlife along the 3.5-mile Platte River Trail during the warm months. During the winter, the trail accommodates cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing.
