Reservations are recommended for those who wish to visit the caverns in the summer or are on tight schedules. For reservations, call 1-888-757-2246.

Also, in addition to campsites, there is a pavilion at the recreation area with lights, electricity, water, grills, and tables. It has a capacity of about 150 and is available by reservation only. Visitors wanting to make reservations should call the district office at 870-269-3228.

Information, a free movie "The Amazing World Below," and an exhibit hall featuring "Life in the Dark" are offered at the visitor center which is open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Special Considerations

The cave's temperature hovers around a constant 58 degrees Fahrenheit, with high relative humidity. As a result, paved trails and handrails tend to be wet, so visitors may want to bring a jacket and wear low-heeled, non-slip shoes.
