The towns of Dayton and Lovell, both full-service communities, are located near either end of the byway.

Special Considerations
The western end of the byway is a steep highway grade. GRADES EXCEED 10%. This may not be the best choice for those pulling trailers or driving an RV. Take the proper precautions to maintain safety while driving.
Restrictions
The Byway is closed in the winter due to an intimidating highway grade climbing its west edge.
