The Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center allows travelers to experience prairie life in Iowa to the fullest. The center has live animal displays, hands-on exhibits, a butterfly garden, and a walk-through exhibit showing life under the prairie. The center also provides educational opportunities through interpretive panels, displays and exhibits on the soils, wildlife, and archaeology of the Loess Hills. An exhibit and artifact display of the Mill Creek culture and an interpretive panel about the Native American Grave Protection and Repatriation Act which was initiated in the Loess Hills are available for visitors here. After exploring all the exhibits, take a hike along the two miles of trails at the center.
