Gneiss Outcrop Scientific & Natural Area, MN

Newly designated as a Scientific and Natural Area, the parcel is unique because of its plant community, rock outcrops, and pristine wetlands. Granite gneiss outcrops exposed from stream action and glacial activity date back to 3.8 billion years ago, making these outcrops some of the oldest exposed rocks in the entire world.
