A gentle river seldom interrupted by rapids, the Minnesota River is one of the few canoe rivers in southwestern Minnesota and offers some of the most impressive landscapes in this part of the state. The best canoeing is during high water time in the spring. Several school groups annually canoe the entire Minnesota River.
