Official Designations

A road may be named as a byway by many agencies. These may include its state byway program, the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, and more.   This designation added the KY, TN, LA, and upper MS sections to the existing MN, WI, IA, IL, AR, Little Dixie (MO) and lower MS sections of the byway.
