Skookum Flats Trail, WA

In 1991, a prominent mountain biking magazine named Skookum Flats Trail as one of the ten best trails for biking in the country. Despite its name, Skookum Flats is not really flat at all. It seems flat at the head of the trail, then starts its up and down charm. Luckily the trail levels off enough after every climb that bikers don't realize how much elevation they have gained. Surrounded by trees, some of which have fallen in the winds, and sparkling rivers spanned by suspension bridges, this trail is a good time any day.
