Stevens Pass Greenway
National Forest: Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Wenatchee National Forest
Length: 89.2 mi / 143.6 km
Time to Allow: Take 2.5 hours to drive, or 6 to 8 hours to experience the byway.
Follow the thundering Skykomish River from pastoral Puget Sound through the towering peaks of the Cascade Mountains. At Stevens Pass the byway descends sharply to the fragrant pine forests and fruit orchards of the Wenatchee River Valley. Historic communities shaped by the rugged landscape share their stories and their hospitality.
Baked into a pie, pressed into cider, rolled into tempting confections, or enjoyed straight from the tree, it's hard to resist a Washington apple. This fall, take a trip to apple country along the Stevens Pass Greenway and enjoy this fabulous fruit in all its forms.
The word "epic" gets thrown around a lot these days, but the Pacific Crest Trail earns the distinction. Learn a new reckoning for time and distance while making the 2,650-mile journey through twenty-four national parks, thirty-three wildernesses, and six out of the seven climate zones in North America.
