Spirit Lake Memorial Highway
Windy Ridge, WA

The stunning view of Spirit Lake surrounded by the desolate hills of Mount St. Helens is most visible from Windy Ridge. Unfortunately, Windy Ridge is not accessible from Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, but if you have enough time you may want to visit Windy Ridge for a view of the lake the highway was named for. Several trails begin from this point and lead down to the lake. The drive to Windy Ridge also takes travelers through an area of huge blown-down trees.
