Special Considerations
An extremely scenic route through the Yucatan Valley, the segment between Houston and Caledonia to the south, curves frequently and climbs many steep grades in response to the area topography. Shoulders are very narrow (2 feet) and would not support bicyclist or pedestrian use.
When traveling the bluff country, be careful of the wildlife inhabiting the area. Rattlesnakes are occasionally found on rock outcrops and in the river bottoms.
