Near the largest meander loop on the Mississippi River, the city of New Madrid offers things for visitors to see and a history for them to hear. Four of history's most violent earthquakes shook the grounds of New Madrid in 1811 and 1812. Visitors will find a museum there that exhibits the area's history.
