Lake Sunapee Scenic Byway
Bicycle/Pedestrian Facilities

It's impossible to list even a fraction of the superb hiking trails in New Hampshire, so two are listed below:

Mt. Kearsarge

A red-dirt trail leads to the 2937-foot summit where views of Lake Sunapee and Pleasant Lake are superb. You'll need proper footwear because some of the trail is pretty rocky. It's about 2.2 miles, round-trip. Access from Kearsarge Valley Road, which is off Route 11, in Wilmot.

West Ridge Trail/Cardigan Mountain

A fairly easy hike to this 3121-foot "bald" summit. is about 2.6 miles, round-trip. Access from Route 18 in Canaan.
