Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, MD

In 1849, white Quakers deeded a lot and their old meeting house to black Methodists who established the Mount Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church. The cemetery may have served as a meeting place for freedom seekers journeying on the Underground Railroad.
