  • Betterton Beach

    Betterton Beach (MD)

    A once-thriving, 19th-century Victorian resort with its own steamboat landing, Betterton Beach today provides a sandy beach and pier for the many people who want to play and relax on the Chesapeake Bay.

    Directions:

    Turn northwest on MD 298 W/Lambs Meadow Rd. Continue onto MD 566. Continue onto MD 292 N/Still Pond Rd. Make a slight right to stay on MD 292. Turn left onto Ericsson Ave. The park will be on the right.

  • C&D Canal Museum

    C&D Canal Museum (MD)

    The C&D Canal Museum is housed in an old canal pump house and is open to the public, free of charge.

  • Centreville

    Centreville (MD)

    Queen Anne's county seat features well-kept 18th and 19th Century homes close to the Byway.

  • Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center

    Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (MD)

    Formerly known as Horsehead Wetlands Center, this 500-acre tract located on the Chesapeake Bay hosts an extensive collection of waterfowl, birds of prey, and a diversity of bird species.

  • Chesapeake City

    Chesapeake City (MD)

    Two of the biggest events in Chesapeake City are "Canal Day," a street and waterfront festival the last Saturday of June, and "Summer Music In The Park," free canal-side concerts under the stars.

  • Chesapeake & Delaware Canal

    Tugboats, ships, barges, and pleasure craft from ports around the globe travel the busiest canal in the U.S. to their varied destinations.

    Location:

    The C&D Canal can be crossed using any of six large bridges. The only one in Maryland and the one closest to the C&D Canal Museum is the Augutine Herman Highway.

  • Chesapeake Exploration Center (MD)

    The Exploration Center includes hands-on, interactive exhibits which feature artifacts and displays that tell the story of the Chesapeake Bay and the Eastern Shore region from the earliest geology to man's impact on the estuary over time.

    The 3,300 acres of Chesapeake Farms are devoted to the development, evaluation, and demonstration of advanced agricultural practices and wildlife management techniques, which are designed to be environmentally sound, productive, economically viable, and socially acceptable.

    Directions:

    Turn east on Ricauds Branch Rd. Take the 1st right onto Remington Drive. Chesapeake Farms will be on your left.

  • Chestertown
