Great River Road
Getting to the Byway

• Go north on Jackie Cochran Dr toward Sally Ride Dr.
• Jackie Cochran Dr. becomes Sally Ride Dr.
• Turn left onto Veterans Memorial Bridge.
• Merge onto I-110 N.
• Merge onto US-61 N via Exit 8B toward Natchez.
• Continue on Hwy 61 until you reach Woodville, MS.

• Go west on Airline Dr.
• Merge onto I-310 N toward I-10/Baton Rouge Airline Hwy/US-61 toward Service Road B.
• Merge onto I-10W via exit 1 on the left toward Baton Rouge.
• Continue on I-10 for 65 miles. Merge onto I-110 N via exit 155B toward business district/metro airport.
• Merge onto US-61 N via exit 8B toward Natchez.
• Continue on US-61 until you reach Woodville.

• From the Memphis International Airport, head east on Winchester Rd.
• Take the ramp onto Plough Blvd.
• Take the ramp onto I-240 westbound.
• Continue west on I-55.
• From I-55, exit onto US-61 southbound.
• Continue on US-61/S. 3rd St. which is the Great River Road in Tennessee.

• Depart Baton Rouge Metropolitan - Ryan Field on Jackie Cochran Dr (north).
• Road name changes to Sally Ride Avenue.
• Turn left (south) onto Veterans Memorial Blvd.
• Take northbound ramp to I-110.

• Take the on-ramp from US 69 onto eastbound I-80.
• Continue on I-80 to Davenport, then take I-280 south.
• Take the SR-22/Rockingham Road exit.

• Head south on Mesaba Ave toward I-35.
• Take the ramp on the left onto I-35 Southbound.
• Take exit 250 for US-2 W toward Proctor and Grand Rapids.
• Continue on US-2 into Grand Rapids.
• Turn left at Pokegama Ave/US-169.

• From US 51 and McGaughey St in Dyersburg, head west on McGaughey St.
• Take Lake St (TN-78) north.
• Get on to I-155 westbound toward Boothspoint.
• Just short of Boothspoint, exit the Interstate onto SR-181, which is the Great River Road in Tennessee.
• Proceed either north or south to travel the byway.

• The byway runs through 1st St., US-169, and Golf Course Rd.

• Take SR 84 (Washington St.) west.
• Turn right to merge onto I-55 S.
• Go south and get onto I-155 southbound.
• Cross the Mississippi River into Tennessee.
• Exit onto north or southbound TN 181, which is the Great River Road.

• From Troy Ave in downtown Hickman, go north.
• Turn left on SR 94 (Moscow Ave.)
• Turn right at Wabash St/E Moulton St to stay on SR 94.
• Turn left at E Carroll St to stay on SR 94.
• Turn right at Hamby Pond Rd to stay on SR 94.
• Bear left at Tyler Rd to stay on SR 94.
• Turn right to stay on SR 94.
• Finish at Great River Road at the KY/TN border. The road becomes SR 78 in TN.

• Starting at the intersection of N. State St. and E. Fortification St. in Jackson, head south on N State St.
• Merge onto MS-18 W/US-80 W.
• Turn left (south) at Ellis Ave and merge onto I-20 westbound.
• Continue on I-20 for 39 miles.
• Merge onto US-61 S via exit 5B.

• Take 32nd St. north to Park Avenue/US 60.
• Travel west on US 60 for approximately 30 miles.
• Join the byway at US 51 in Wickliffe, KY.

The Missouri section of the Great River Road is not currently included in the National Scenic Byway designation, except for the Little Dixie Highway section further south.

To reach the nearest designated section, cross the Mississippi River into East St. Louis in Illinois and turn south onto State Route 3 towards Cahokia.

• Proceed east on Spruce Street and take the onramp to I-55 south.
• Travel south on I-55 for approximately 142 miles.
• Take exit 66A onto I-57 north.
• Go 13 miles and take exit 12.
• Travel 0.5 miles and turn right on US 60.
• Travel 12 miles and turn right on US 51 which take you to Wickliffe Mounds, the northern end of Kentucky's Great River Road.

• Proceed east on Spruce Street and take the onramp to I-55 south.
• Travel south on I-55 for approximately 142 miles.
• Take exit 66A onto I-57 north.
• Go 13 miles and take exit 12.
• Travel 0.5 miles and turn right on US 60.
• Travel 12 miles and turn right on US 51 which take you to Wickliffe Mounds, the northern end of Kentucky's Great River Road.

• Head northwest on Wabasha St toward 4th Street.
• Turn left at 4th Street and proceed three blocks to Washington Street.
• Turn left onto Washington Street and proceed one block.
• Turn right onto Exchange St./Kellogg Blvd. Veer left on Exchange Street.
• Turn immediately left at Eagle St/Eagle Pkwy.
• Merge onto Chestnut Street.
• Turn right at Shepard Rd

• From Tunica, go northeast on US-61.
• Finish at the border of Missouri and Tennessee, where Tennessee's part of the Great River Road begins.
