Great River Road
Lynxville, WI

Lynxville has been a reliable steamboat stop since the 1850's. Captains were confident that the water level changed little at the port of Lynxville. As a result, Lynxville began as a busy town full of shipping warehouses. When the railroad came through, shipping became more reliable and the reign of the steamboat waned. Now Lynxville is the location of Lock and Dam No. 9 as well as several apple orchards.
