The Grotto at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville is famous throughout the region. The shrine is dedicated to religion and patriotism and is done in the style of concrete embedded with rocks, shells, and other materials. Built in 1920, the Grotto was built by a local pastor who was inspired by other shrines of this type throughout Iowa and Wisconsin.
