Santa Fe Trail
Timpas Picnic Area, CO

This picnic area includes a 1/2 mile loop nature trail that goes to Timpas Creek and back. You will be able to see where the Santa Fe National Historic Trail passed by in the area. From the Timpas Picnic Area, you may also go hiking or horseback riding to the Sierra Vista Overlook. You can start at the nature trail and follow the path from there. This 3-mile section of the Santa Fe Trail leads to Sierra Vista Overlook.
