Flaming Gorge County means a wide range of year-round recreation, breath-taking scenery, abundant wildlife, and classic frontier history. The area's centerpiece is Flaming Gorge Reservoir, a 91-mile lake, offering superb boating and trophy fishing. In 1968, the lake and surrounding area in southern Wyoming and Northeastern Utah was designated a National Recreation Area to preserve its natural beauty and enhance its many recreational opportunities.
