A World-Class Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium contains more than a hundred galleries and exhibits, each re-creating some of the bay's many habitats. The world-class aquarium contains more than 6,500 live creatures, like jellyfish, sharks, octopus, and giant ocean sunfish. Many exhibits allow the visitor to interact and even touch the sea creatures. The aquarium includes a towering three story kelp forest, hands-on touch pools, a walk through aviary, and the enchanting exhibit of playful sea otters.

Interact With the Sea Life

The outer Bay Wing features a depiction of life in the open ocean, while the "Mysteries of the Deep" exhibit offers a peek into the deepest of the undersea Monterey Canyon. Videos, special programs and a host of hands-on activities bring the entire family closer to sea life than ever before.
