Visitor Services
Most services along the byway are located in or around the community of Alturas, but tourist services are within easy driving distance of the entire byway.
Facilities along the route allow travelers to stop and enjoy other recreational opportunities such as picnicking, fishing, and wildlife observation.
Private facilities include restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, motels, bed and breakfast accommodations, auto service and repair stations, retail shopping areas and markets, pharmacies, child care, medical services and financial services. Two nine-hole golf courses serve the byway region.

The Cedar Pass Snow Park maintains a surface ski lift in the Warner Mountains on Cedar Pass near Highway 299. Medicine Lake Higlands offers 31 miles of groomed trails that provide breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta.
