Special Considerations

Barrel Springs Back Country Byway is a Type I back country byway. The California portion of the byway is paved and the Nevada section is improved gravel. The Nevada section is passable by passenger cars when it's dry.

Restrictions

While the California portion of the byway is paved and easily driven during all seasons, the Nevada section may be difficult to drive in a passenger car during wet weather conditions.
