St. Joseph Cathedral, KY

St. Joesph’s Cathedral was the first Catholic cathedral west of the Allegheny Mountains. Built in 1816-1819, the cathedral contains historic paintings, gifts of Francis I, King of the Two Sicilies, and Pope Leo XII. It is made of bricks that were baked on site, with large columns in the front.
