Creole Nature Trail
Enjoy Golf Along the Creole Nature Trail

For people interested in championship golf courses, the Creole Nature Trail is an ideal destination. It features lush scenery, Cajun hospitality, and some of the best golf courses in the state of Louisiana. Enjoy its timeless courses that are often sculpted into the breathtaking natural setting of marshes, mature trees, and lowland vegetation.

Visit the city of Lake Charles and discover its many public courses, such as Gray Plantation, Contraband Bayou Golf Club at L’Auberge du Lac Casino & Golf Resort, Mallard Cove, and Pine Shadows. Some of the city’s courses have been featured in Golf Digest for their importance on a national scale.

You will find plenty of worthwhile courses along the Creole Nature Trail to tempt you onto the fairway. Contraband Bayou Golf Club, for example, is the only public course in the state designed by world-renowned golf architect, Tom Fazio. Mallard Cove acts as home to the Lake Charles City Tournament, the Optimist Celebrity Tournament, and has hosted the Chi Chi Rodriguez/PGA Teaching clinics. Drivers of Interstate 10 can watch golfers tee off at Pine Shadows, one of the oldest courses and best-kept secrets of lake area golfers.

When visiting Southwest Louisiana for business or pleasure, do not forget to pack your clubs to play on some of the finest greens in the state. Remember, most tee times need to be reserved 48 hours in advance.
