Delaware River Scenic Byway
Washington Crossing State Park, NJ
Washington Crossing State Park marks the site of General George Washington’s historic 1776 crossing of the Delaware River. Once he and the Continental Army landed that fateful Christmas morning, they marched to Trenton to surprise the Hessian in a battle often referred to as the turning point of the Revolutionary War. Originally preserved for its historical significance, today the park has much more to offer including: a museum, an open air theatre, and nature center.
