Information

The Paynes Prairie State Preserve Visitor Center is located on US 441 approximately ten miles south of Gainesville. It provides interpretive displays, brochures, and movies about intrinsic features and historical events along the byway. It is open daily from 8:00 am to sunset. The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park has historical information about the area and is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Micanopy Historical Museum & Archives has historic information and is open from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm daily.
