Special Considerations

Camp only in designated areas. Saving campsites or picnic shelters is prohibited. Your camping permit covers one vehicle and any attached recreational equipment. There is an extra fee for additional vehicles or camping equipment. Owners of vehicles remaining in the parking area after 10 pm must be camped in the park.

Fires may be built in specified areas. All campsites have fire pits and grills. Gathering of firewood is prohibited. Picnickers and campers should bring appropriate fuel.

Pets are allowed in most Utah state parks but they should be on a maximum six-foot leash. Seeing Eye dogs are the only animals admitted in park buildings. Pets are not permitted on developed beaches or in lakes and streams. For safety and courtesy please keep your pets under control.

All plants, animals, minerals and other natural features in state parks are protected. It is unlawful to remove, alter, destroy or molest them.

Possession or use of firearms, traps or other devices capable of launching a projectile that can immobilize, injure or kill a person or animal, or damage property is prohibited unless the weapon or device is: unloaded and packed away to prevent its use; being used for the legal pursuit of wildlife; being used by authorized enforcement officers in the performance of official duties.

Explosives, fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited unless authorized by the park manager.

It is unlawful to dump or drain water from campers, trailers or boats onto the ground or into the lake. Most developed parks provide utility sinks and/or sanitary disposal stations.
