Route 1 - San Luis Obispo North Coast Byway
Morro Bay Natural History Museum, CA
The Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History sits on a hill overlooking the Morro Bay Estuary. In addition to panoramic views of the coastline, the view from the museum includes world-famous Morro Rock. Educational opportunities abound at the museum. The museum won't merely provide visitors a guided tour of the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History; it takes visitors on a hike up a volcanic plug, a trek to a bird rookery, a scientific exploration of the mudflats, up-close demonstrations in the Learning Center, and a session of hands-on activities. All this happens under the direction of trained docents.
